In the summer of 2001, during a visit to Bulgaria amidst meetings with investors, the late Shinichi Munemasa (founder of SANIX INCORPORATED) was deeply impressed by the country's traditional folk dances, rhythmic gymnastics, and the warm, human qualities of the Bulgarian people. This led him to organize the annual "Bulgaria Festival" in Japan (at the Global Arena* in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture) from then on.

Through these festivals and other events, we have fostered active cultural exchanges between Japan and Bulgaria, Mr. Munemasa was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Fukuoka on October 8, 2007. The consulate was officially opened on November 22 of the same year.

*Global Arena
The Global Arena is a comprehensive sports and cultural facility established by Shinichi Munemasa using his founder's profit from the company’s public listing. It hosts global-scale sporting events, school and training camps, corporate workshops, and serves as a place of relaxation for local citizens.

In November 2007, Shinichi Munemasa was presented with a certificate of appointment by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria (at the time), Mr. Kalfin.

Following the passing of Shinichi Munemasa in January 2017, his son, Hiroshi Munemasa (current President of SANIX INCORORATED), succeeded him and was appointed as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Fukuoka on January 16, 2019.

In March 2019, Hiroshi Munemasa was presented with a certificate of appointment by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria (at the time), Ms. Zaharieva.
